Since its establishment in 2013, the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) has been conducting research into bushfire that supports the development of cohesive, evidence-based policies, strategies, programs and tools to build a more disaster resilient Australia.
Recently, Lew Short (Blackash Bushfire Consulting) has been recognised and commended for his contribution and involvement over the last eight years in this national research. We commend Lew for his ongoing commitment to research and best practice in fire management and planning and for being recognised in this way.
Blackash continues to support the work of the Bushfire and Natural Hazard CRC and is looking forward to supporting the new national centre for natural hazards and disaster resilience research in the future.
